This shot is not about the hail dump but the star trails on our first Yellowstone campground night, but it really hailed at dusk, right when we were setting up the tent on our arrival ...

Deadly High Tide Sunrise (for electronic devices) at Second Beach
This shot was one of the last I took the morning of december 30th before my camera decided to take a dive in salt water. Captured around 7:43am. Is a composite of 2 shots, I used a 10 second shot for the bottom and a 1.3 sec one for the top, both taken at f16.
It was a very fun trip to Second Beach with my brother in law - El Chino - who was visiting the pacific for the 1st time, we hiked through the woods before sunrise and had a blast until the camera died ... as they say better dead in the great outdoors than in the bed (or camera bag in this case) ;-)Second beachLa PushAndres Caldera PhotographySunriseseascapeolympic peninsulalandscape
Walla Walla Hay Fields
I just don't have words for how much I love this shot .... to be really honest I had to combine the right sky with the right ground ... they both belong to the same place (Walla Walla, WA) and were taken just 4 miles from each other (the sky one was taken from the Withman Mission, and the hayfield is by College place & Highway 12, like 4 miles east), and were taken less than 2 hours apart ... the story is that I saw this beautiful cloud formation earlier in the day but didn't stop and when I went back to the hay field to take my shot, the puffy clouds were gone and sky was not like this anymore ... so PS time machine helped bring time back ... Lesson is, when you see what you like, stop the car and take the shot ... Nikkor 10-24 & circular polarizer
Gasworks Park at Dusk - Landscape version
Just if there was any doubt that the sunsets in Seattle were among the most beautiful nature scenes in the planet, here are my 2 cents.
Just went visiting Gas Works Park on a sunday afternoon back in January and was welcomed with this unbeliavable color show, I swear I didn't apply saturation at all, no HDR, just cropped to remove some stuff at the bottom ... hand held as I didn't even bring my tripod this time around ...Pacific

The thrill of driving
**** 7/15 - Very proud I made it for the 2nd time to the Microsoft Photo Book, this will be the 2010 edition - This year 478 photographes submitted 1910 images - so 1 in 1910 chance to get it - really excited - The Microsoft Photo Book is an initiative to raise money for the yearly Giving campaign, so all the proceeds from book sales are donated ...
Today I took a first try at taking a driving shot ... This was taken on SR-202 on my way back from work. Next time will try I90 tunnels, on a rainy day which is pretty much every single day through May :-)

This is my wife contemplating an amazing sunset from top of Spray Park at Mount Rainier National Park. This was her first ever overnight hike and was a success, so next summer will do a few of these :-) The other reason this was a success is because I just learned this photo won second place in this year's Washington Trails Association (WTA) 2009 Photo contest, Northwest Exposure 2009 "Hikers in action" category. It was a nice surprise on the mail as they didn't send an e-mail to notify. I got a pretty cool book to enjoy more our hikes, a 6 month suscription to "picknic" and my photo was published in WTA's physical bimonthly magazine. This is my wife contemplating an amazing sunset from top of Spray Park at Mount Rainier National Park. update: WTA has their own flickr stream and they also posted my photo, here www.flickr.com/photos/29468641@N04/4015472309/in/set-7215...
